We are celebrating New Orleans’ Tricentennial with new music! A New Orleans Cocnerto – for Orchestra by Weigel specially commissioned for the Tricentennial opens the program. Next, world-renowned pianist Anne-Marie McDermott returns to New Orleans, bringing her artful touch to Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2. Rounding out the concert is Modest Mussorgsky’s famous Pictures at an Exhibition, arranged for orchestra by Maurice Ravel.
