The Orpheum’s spacious orchestra, loges, balcony, and gallery offer newly-installed upholstered seats and comfortable accommodation for 1460 guests. The Orpheum easily transforms from an intimate concert venue to corporate meeting and convention space with perfect sight lines from each of its seats. An adjustable orchestra floor and customizable floor seating plan accommodate banquets, weddings, luncheons and receptions. The main floor and gallery are wheelchair accessible.
The stage, which measures approximately 33’ (D) x 45’ (W), is completely upgraded with all new rigging and electrical, making the facility more user-friendly to promoters, film companies and event producers. An approximate five-foot stage extension is available.
More than a stunning historical structure, this reimagined space brings an entirely new tier of entertainment and private event space to New Orleans. The Orpheum can accommodate live concerts, movie premieres, film festivals, location shoots, theatrical productions, conferences, fundraisers, private parties and many other special events. Technical specifications are available upon request.
The lobby’s terra cotta ceiling as well as the ornate plasterwork throughout the space were all restored by hand. The paint color scheme is now precisely as it was in 1921.
The mezzanine, which overlooks the famous Roosevelt Hotel, is a beautiful space that includes a full bar, nearby restrooms, and elevator access.
For film screenings and movie premieres, the projection booth contains a 4K Barco projector with 7.1 Dolby Digital Stereo and Surround Sound.
Sound & Lighting:
State-of-the-art audio and lighting systems have been installed throughout to complement the Orpheum’s original acoustic integrity.
Orpheum has five dressing rooms that are immaculately appointed and include full bathrooms, dressing mirror, landline telephone, satellite TV and internet access. A full kitchen has been added in the basement level. Conveniently located under the stage, the green room can be used as a lounge or for wardrobe, storage, technical production, catering and more. A laundry room is easily accessible from the green room and dressing rooms.
The Orpheum was one of the first theaters in the American south to have an elevator, which has now been fully restored. The elevator for guest use is located at the front lobby area and provides access to the balcony and gallery levels. An onstage lift is used by catering and production crews.
Theater load-in access available at backstage roll door or front entrance.
